It works well with less lag than you'd expect for a heavy truck in mountains
It would better if the Set/Coast button was on the bottom and Res/Acc was on top, like every factory cruise control I've encountered, but they get the job done. On my truck I mounted the actuator between the heater and starter solenoid and the hardest part of the install was removing a plug in the firewall and drilling a hole for the wires. Don't expect much from The Cruise Control Store's "vehicle specific wiring information." The info was identical to the Rostra manual. Why bother if you aren't going to add useful information such as pictures or a diagram. Every video I could find of installs had the switch installed on the bottom half of the trim around the steering wheel. I mounted mine in the top half, behind the turn signal stalk. That keeps it from being low enough to smack your knee on. If you take the top half off there is a void that makes picking the mounting location obvious. I removed the factory wiring harness that runs along the firewall and taped the wires to it so everything is hidden once the cover was reinstalled. I wish I could post pics. It might help future buyers.
