    E250 Battle wagon install

Posted by Rob Hernandez on 25th Jan 2024

I installed this system in my 2012 E25 extended ( heavy ) battle wagon. Install was pretty straight forward with the exception of finding and using the correct wire for the speed signal. This system must use the yellow wire at the ABS wire harness. One must unbolt the coolent fill container to make it easy to access the abs harness. Once I got that wire tapped in it worked great. This system must use this wire and cannot use any other VSS or VSO wire. Just use the yellow! I gave it 4 stars as the actual control button on the steering column could be updated and more ergonomic. Except the this I love the system.

    Works as intended

I purchased this kit to upgrade our Ford E-350 passenger van. Installation was a bit more challenging than expected especially with the wire running into the engine compartment, but after a quick call to the CS phone number, I had my questions answered, and installation complete. Installation instructions are a little generic, but well written by people who speak English. I Just got back from a 16hr road trip and the unit worked without issue the entire trip. A couple of things to note. 1 The control switch lever thing looks like a factory unit, but is controlled by the three buttons. It does not move like factory units. Thinking you are in a different car could result in a broken unit as you try to physically move it to set and change speeds. 2 the unit attaches to the steering column not the steering wheel. 3. I believe the top and bottom buttons should be reversed. You click the top button to slow down and set speed and you click the bottom button to speed up or resume. This feels backwards and is reversed compared to other cars I have. 4. this unit doesn’t move the gas pedal, I expected this, but it isn't indicated anywhere in the description. Overall it works really well, deserves high marks, and is worth the $300+ price tag.
