At The Cruise Control Store, we are proud to offer complete aftermarket cruise control kits for 2005, 2006, 2007, and 2008 Toyota Tacomas, as well as kits for many other makes and models. If you purchased a Tacoma that didn’t come with cruise control as a standard feature but now you want it, you’re in luck. Our kits contain everything you need to complete a DIY installation, and we also provide instructions, videos, and access to our technicians, who are happy to answer any questions you may have about the process.
Installing the Cruise Control Kit
Installation of these kits may be easier than you think, and they don’t take that long, either. At The Cruise Control Store, we supply all of our customers with detailed instructions, an instructional video, and access to our professional technicians, who can answer any questions you may have about the process.
How to Install
- First, remove the plastic shroud off the steering column and look at the S8 connector.
- The S8 connector is a 12-pin connector. The wires you’ll work with are in position one, which will have a brown/white wire, and position two, which has a white/black wire.
- Insert the brown wire from the cruise control kit into the connector, and make sure it’s all the way in. Then, put the black wire into position two and make sure it’s all the way in. Then, push the pin retainer clip to pop it back in.
- Pop the connector back into the S8 connector, and reroute pin one (brown wire) over to the ECM, located behind the passenger side glove box. The black wire will go directly to ground, and that’s it!
