This is a complete Rostra cruise control kit for the 1988-2011 Ford Ranger. Applicable to automatic and manual transmission vehicles. Kit includes vehicle specific wiring information as well as universal installation instructions. Wiring information for exact year and engine sizes included. Please call with any questions regarding this complete cruise control kit. Installation of the "optional" clutch disengagement switch is difficult and very time consuming. We would only recommend installing the clutch switch for the VERY experienced installers.

Very glad I got this one

I purchased this cruise control after reading other reviews. I am so glad I did. Easy to install, technical support was very helpful when I needed it, out of date literature. I have been using this product for several months and it works nice, very tight speed regulation without having to change settings. I would recommend this product for use on Ford Ranger trucks.

    Nice aftermarket accessory

The unit came with several different pamphlets and instruction sheets, some of which conflicted on details (like where the VSS wire was located and whether to use the tach signal. Fortunately the technician on the customer service line was knowledgeable and excellent to work with. I had spent quite some time troubleshooting the unit when he mentioned that recently some had been shipped with the actuator cable not attached to the servo inside the unit. That fixed it. Who would have thought it would be shipped out with the sealed unit only partly assembled!

Install into a 2010 Mazda B4000 (Ford Ranger)

I did not attempt to install this unit myself. A family member that is a certified service technician did it for me. It took him a couple of hours but that is only because he was being extremely methodical and precise. He had done these on Toyota's, this was a first for a Ford product for him. He said the instructions were fairly good and the 'extra' info for the "Ford Ranger" were helpful. The unit is working well and just completed a 150 mile trip flawlessly. The folks here at the Cruise Control Store were very helpful on my purchase and did not pressure me to buy anything extra....I have a manual shift vehicle and they I could buy the extra part for the manual shift but implied I would do fine without...which save me some money. I definitely recommend the product and the people here.

    excellent product

I installed the cruise control on my manual transmission 2004 Ford Ranger. Installation took about 8 hours. Finding a good place to mount the module was a little difficult, but I got lucky because I didn't need to drill any new holes in the frame of my vehicle. The instructions that came with the manual are not super intuitive, but as a layman I was still able to follow them. The customer service provided by the manufacturer (M&R Electronics) is amazing. I had some trouble understanding the last step of installation and they walked me through it in a helpful, professional manner. The cruise control works like a dream. I would definitely recommend this product, although I would not recommend installing it by yourself without prior knowledge of basic mechanics/parts installation.

    Works Beautifully !

I wasn't sure if I should buy from Rostra or spend the big $ to go OEM. I did buy the Rostra and Im very happy with it. My Haynes manual was no help at all when I was trying to follow the schematic to double check all the wiring as I installed it. I had to completely trust the instructions that were sent with the cruise control. I didn't match with the Haynes manual but everything worked out perfectly! These guys make it simple and do it right. Don't be afraid to buy one and instal it.
